On April 29, 2026, at approximately 12:04 A.M., Minneapolis police officers were dispatched to a report of a burglary that occurred approximately fifteen minutes prior, on or about April 28, 2026. The burglary occurred at a residence on the 4500 block of Drew Avenue South, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Upon arrival, officers met with a fully identified male victim (hereinafter “Victim A”), who identified himself as the homeowner and occupant of the residence. Officers also met with Victim A’s spouse (an adult female fully identified in reports, hereinafter “Victim B”). Victim A stated that he was lying in bed in his bedroom when he heard suspicious noises.
Victim A checked the security cameras and discovered that an individual had entered his house without his permission. The individual selected several items from the house and took them without permission. Victim A reported the following items missing: • a DeWalt Impact drill; • a computer; and • a white purse containing Victim B’s driver’s license, passport card, credit cards, a debit card, medication, cash, and Apple AirPods. On April 30, 2026, Victim B reported using the “Find My Phone” application that placed her AirPods near [ADDRESS REDACTED] North in St. Paul.
The application then placed her AirPods near [ADDRESS REDACTED] North. On May 1, 2026, Victim’s AirPods were placed near [ADDRESS REDACTED] North. On May 1, 2026, a Hennepin County CISA analyst identified the suspect shown in surveillance video as SHAWN MICHAEL ALBRECHT, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant. Defendant bears a strong resemblance to the individual shown in the surveillance video committing the burglary. Moreover, Defendant’s listed address on his driver’s license is [ADDRESS REDACTED] North, St. Paul.
Defendant has multiple prior burglary convictions, including ••-CR-••-•••• (felony Third Degree Burglary), 19HA-CR-19-339 (felony Third Degree Burglary), and ••-CR-••-•••• (felony Third Degree Burglary). Defendant has a pending Second Degree Burglary case (••-CR-••-••••), for which he failed to appear for court on January 5, 2026. Because Defendant still has an outstanding failure to appear warrant on 27- CR-25-3640, there is a high likelihood that Defendant will not respond to a summons, and a warrant is respectfully requested.
