On April 6, 2026, at about 11:39 P.M., South Lake Minnetonka Police were on patrol when they observed a vehicle at the intersection of Christmas Lake Road and Excelsior Boulevard in Greenwood, Hennepin County, that only had its daytime running lights on and had no rear lights unless braking or signaling a turn. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, which had two occupants. The driver stated she had a valid driver's license but that she did not have it with her. She provided a name and date of birth that was ultimately determined to belong to the passenger, though the date of birth was off by one year.
The driver was eventually identified as JENNA JOLENE ROBINSON [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. While speaking with Defendant, officers noticed her eyes were watery and there was a sweet smell coming from the vehicle that officers believed could be the odor of consumed alcohol. Checks on Defendant revealed she had several active warrants. In a search incident to arrest, officers recovered burnt tinfoil, a straw, a lighter, and a paw-shaped contained with white powder residue. A white suspected Xanax pill was found on the ground near Defendant after the search, which had not been there before.
The vehicle was a rental, and neither Defendant nor the passenger were authorized drivers on the rental agreement. Before the vehicle was towed, officers searched the vehicle and located a straw and lighter within reach of the driver's seat, and an open purple and white container with a plastic bag containing a pill and purple powder. This was located on the floorboards slightly under the driver's seat and field-tested positive for 0.58 grams methamphetamine. Defendant's purse was recovered from the vehicle near the purple and white container and found to contain several straws and pieces of tinfoil, a digital scale with field-test positive (FTP) fentanyl residue, and several baggies of suspected controlled substances, including a baggie of 2.29 grams of a crystal substance and a baggie of 0.7 grams of cigarette filters and white powder, which were weighed in original packaging and field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Various prescription pills were also found and may result in added charges at a later date depending on further investigation. Defendant is currently in custody at Hennepin County Jail.
