On 01/02/26 at approximately1543 hours, Inv. Elias Hoversten was dispatched to the Dilworth Police Department (DPD) to take a fraud report. The Complainant indicated that his vehicle was broken into at his residence in Fargo, ND and his credit cards were stolen. The stolen cards were subsequently used at the Fargo and Moorhead Target locations and the Walmart located in Dilworth, Clay County MN. Complainant was identified to be A.M., hereinafter referred to as Victim. Victim relayed that the fraudulent purchase that occurred at the Dilworth Walmart was made on 01/01/26 and fraudulently charged his credit card in the amount of $893.30. Inv.
Hoversten contacted Asset Protection Officer (APO) Haerter who was able to secure video surveillance footage from the Walmart in Dilworth on 01/01/26. The video footage captures a female in a long dark gray coat with black trim around the collar. The female is also covering her face with a scarf as she used the card to make the fraudulent purchase, obscuring her identification. However, a female wearing the same coat and matching the suspects height and build is found using the Victim's solen card at the TJ Maxx in Fargo on 01/05/26. The female using the Victim's stolen card on both 01/01/26 and 01/05/26 was positively identified to be EMILY MARIE GERRICH [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter referred to as Defendant.
Defendant did not have the Victim's consent to use his credit card to make purchases at any of the locations where his card was used, including the Dilworth Walmart.
