On 08/19/2025 at about 2250 hours, St. Paul Police were proactively patrolling near Edgerton St and York Ave in St. Paul, Ramsey County when they saw a 2005 Honda Accord (MN/JTU319) driving east on York Ave. The vehicle had come from [ADDRESS REDACTED], which police had already identified as a problem property associated with various criminal activities. Police followed the Honda as it traveled to York and Payne. There, it ignored a stop sign as it turned south on Payne. It then drove off at a high rate of speed; faster than the posted speed limit.
Police followed the Honda and, when it ran a second stop sign, activated their emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop. The Honda did not slow down. Police chirped the squad’s siren several times, but the Honda fled south on Edgerton at about 45 mph. For safety reasons, police did not chase. They deactivated the squad’s emergency lights but continued to follow as the Honda almost crashed near Edgerton and Payne. The Honda turned north on Payne at which time an Asian male was seen exiting the passenger side of the vehicle.
The female driver then continued to flee north on Payne. Police eventually lost sight of the vehicle as it approached Phalen Blvd. Police checked the immediate area and found the Honda in the driveway of [ADDRESS REDACTED]. It was running with a sole female standing next to it. As police approached, the female tried to run back into the house. Police were professionally well acquainted with the suspect, identified as May FLOWER (05-02-2006), and knew she lived at the address. FLOWER was ordered to stop.
While being taken into custody, FLOWER said "I was told to f****** drive." Police confirmed that FLOWER was the female they had seen driving. During a search of the Honda, police found numerous tools that are commonly used as burglary tools, a catalytic converter that appeared to have been cut off a vehicle, and a pistol holster.
