On January 17, 2026, officers with the Minneapolis Police Department were on patrol on Fremont Avenue North in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers observed a parked vehicle with a male slumped over. Officers ran checks on the vehicle and found that the registered owner did not match the male who was slumped over inside of the vehicle. Officers approached the vehicle and observed a glass pipe with residue on the front passenger’s seat. The male, who was slumped, was seated in the driver’s seat and the vehicle was running.
Officers knocked on the window and the male woke up. The male exited the vehicle, put his hands behind his back, and stated: “It’s over.” At this point in time, officers did not tell the male he was under arrest nor did they tell him to put his hands behind his back. Officers identified the male as Nathanael Lee Doehling [DOB REDACTED] (“Defendant”). Officers found that Defendant’s driving privileges had been cancelled as inimical to public safety. Defendant was arrested. Officers searched Defendant and found a pipe as well as a white rock.
The white rock weighed 0.57-grams and field tested positive for Cocaine. Cocaine is a schedule-II controlled substance. Defendant is presently charged in Hennepin County with felony drug possession based on ••-CR-••-••••. Defendant was placed on certain conditions, including that Defendant must remain law abiding. Therefore, the instant offense occurred while Defendant was on conditional release.
