05/24/2000 (“Defendant”), to arrest him on a parole violation. When Sgt. Giese arrived, the Defendant and his girlfriend were observed seated in a vehicle in the driveway. When they noticed Sgt. Giese pull up behind them in a fully marked squad vehicle, they exited the vehicle and went into the Defendant’s residence. Sgt. Giese knocked on the door and after some time, the Defendant opened the door. PO Christianson checked the Defendant for weapons as he indicated he believed the Defendant was in possession of a handgun.
The Defendant stated he had an airsoft hangun in a safe on the premises. The safe was located and it was observed to have mounting holes drilled into the back. Through the holes, with the use of a flashlight, Sgt. Giese observed what appeared to be a handgun, along with a white baggie containing residue, snorting straws, and a large mirror with a razor blade. The residue contained in the baggies tested positive for methamphetamine. The Defendant was previously convicted of Distribution of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance, Resulting in Great Bodily Harm.
