From August 1, 2022, through August 1, 2024, Vickie Ja Ong Lor [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, and applied for and received public benefits for her household from the Anoka County Department of Human Services in the form of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and Medical Assistance (MA) benefits. Due to unreported household income and inaccurate household information on their application, Defendant’s household was overpaid $17,576.00 in SNAP benefits and $8,505.40 in medical assistance benefits.
Public benefit applicants are required to accurately report all household income, including all income received by any household members. In this case, eligibility for public assistance programs was based on oral and written statements provided to Economic Assistance that Defendant and T. A.’s income was not enough to support the household. In Defendant’s application for assistance, Defendant failed to report, K. X., the father of her children’s presence in her residence, as well as his income. Specifically, property taxes, credit reports, employment records, cell phone records and multiple government sites (DVS, MGA, TLO, etc.) show K. X. Has resided with Defendant since her initial application in 2022. K. X. Earned $141,546.34 in income, which was not reported from 2022 through 2024. Of note is that Defendant is a financial worker for the Ramsey County Department of Human Services and is very aware of the reporting requirements.
Defendant admitted that K. X. Lives with her and their children and has since they purchased the home on June 24, 2022. The documents submitted to Economic Assistance were signed by Defendant and declared that the signatures were being provided under penalty of perjury.
