On December 14, 2025, at approximately 4:06 A.M., police responded to the area of Woodbury Avenue and Page Street, St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. The dispatch comments indicated that the complainant’s girlfriend was incoherent on text, said she was unable to call, and said that she was raped and being held hostage. The complainant tracked her location via Life360 to that area. Upon arrival, police spoke with the complainant, CGH, the girlfriend of the suspected victim, JNV, and BXL, a male co-worker of CGH and JNV, who were sitting in BXL’s vehicle.
CGH reported that JNV and another roommate, LKT, were out together earlier in the evening, and LKT was missing as well. CGH told police that LKT’s location was showing as just north of King of Diamonds in Inver Grove Heights and was stationary for an extended period of time, which was concerning. Police requested assistance from that law enforcement agency. While speaking with CGH, JNV exited the residence. JNV was barefoot, did not have a jacket on, and was crying. JNV made a statement along the lines of, “Go get him.
Go do what you do. Go inside and get him.” Police got her into BXL’s vehicle and had them move from the area in front of the residence. While waiting for an ambulance, police began asking JNV some preliminary questions, which JNV was able to answer intermittently due to her intoxication. JNV was able to tell police that what happened to her was horrible, and the male was touching her all over. When asked if the male was ever inside her, JNV responded affirmatively. When asked if the male had any weapons, JNV said that he had a knife and put it on her, which scared her, but he did not physically hurt her with it.
While speaking with police, JNV’s phone received a phone call from a number with no contact assigned. CGH took the phone and began speaking with the person, who was only known as “Mina”. Mina asked where JNV was. According to CGH, Mina said JNV was in the backseat of a vehicle with Mina’s brother driving. CGH believed Mina was also intoxicated. When she tried to ask questions, Mina hung up. When police attempted to call Mina back, the call would not go through. As medics arrived and loaded JNV into the ambulance, JNV told police she did not recall where she was earlier in the night or how she got to the residence.
Upon arrival at the hospital, medical staff advised police that JNV needed to be less intoxicated to speak with a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). At the residence, police repeatedly knocked on the door and rang the doorbell, but no one answered the front door. Police surrounded the residence and continued making announcements to the occupants over the loudspeaker to come out with their hands up, but there was no response. Police observed a male walking inside the address, but he would not come out as directed.
