On January 19, 2025, officers with the Bloomington Police Department were dispatched to Target (“the Store”) located at 7555 79th Street West in Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota, on report of shoplifting. Officers were notified by an employee (“the Employee”) of the Store that a male had concealed items in his bag, did not pay for the items, and left the Store. Officers arrived at the Store, located the male, and arrested him. The male was identified as Richard Quiterio [DOB REDACTED] (“Defendant”). Officers found that Defendant was actively trespassed from the Store.
The total value of the stolen items was $126.65. Within the preceding five-years Defendant was convicted for a third-degree burglary based on 27-CR-23- 14681. In that case, the sentence was stayed under Minn. Stat. § 609.135. The plea that was entered would have allowed for imposition of a felony sentence. Defendant presently has a minimum of nine open theft-related offense. Due to the ongoing nature of Defendant’s activity, bail is requested to ensure public safety.
