On January 26, 2026, at approximately 9: 45 A.M., Faribault Police Officer Sjodin was dispatched to meet with Female Adult Victim [NAME REDACTED] has just occurred at her residence in Faribault, Rice County, Minnesota. While speaking with Officer Sjodin in the police department lobby, Female Adult Victim reported that her ex-boyfriend, SEMI DURGUTOVIC, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein, entered her home without her permission and assaulted her. Female Adult Victim [NAME REDACTED], several years ago, she used to be in a romantic intimate relationship with the defendant.
The relationship lasted for 18 months. During the prior week, Female Adult Victim had allowed the defendant to stay at her residence for three days. Female Adult Victim had asked the defendant to leave the residence. When the defendant left, he left behind several of his belongings. Female Adult Victim had been trying to contact the defendant to meet at Fleet Farm to return his belongings. Female Adult Victim [NAME REDACTED] invite the defendant back to her residence. On January 26, at approximately 8:50 A.M., Female Adult Victim was gathering the defendant's belongings when she heard the door to her house open.
Female Adult Victim said she then observed the defendant enter her home. Female Adult Victim [NAME REDACTED] told the defendant to leave the house while he was inside. Female Adult Victim [NAME REDACTED] intimidated by the defendant and scared "shitless" because he was in her house. Female Adult Victim [NAME REDACTED] was partially due to the knowledge the defendant has gone to prison for prior DANCO violations and assault. Female Adult Victim [NAME REDACTED] called her current boyfriend, CW so he would be able to hear if something happened to her.
The defendant cornered Female Adult Victim in her son's room and grabbed her by the neck and the back of her head. The defendant then hit Female Adult Victim's face into her son's bed. Officer Sjodin observed a red mark on Female Adult Victim's right cheek. Officer Sjodin noted two red marks on Female Adult Victim's neck. Officer Sjodin spoke with CW, who reported Female Adult Victim [NAME REDACTED] was at work. Female Adult Victim [NAME REDACTED] said the defendant was hurting her. CW left work and went to Female Adult Victim's house.
The defendant was gone by the time CW arrived at Female Adult Victim's home. CW said he heard Female Adult Victim's head hitting the bed. Since the defendant had left the residence and his whereabouts were unknown a KOPS alert was issued for his arrest. Female Adult Victim [NAME REDACTED] from a camera on her property which shows when the defendant arrives and enters her home and when he exits the home. The defendant has previously been convicted of felony first degree burglary in violation of 609.582.1(c) on December 18, 2023; felony DANCO violation in violation of 629.75.2(d) on December 18, 2023 in a separate file; misdemeanor DANCO violation in violation of 609.75.2(b) on October 24, 2022; misdemeanor DANCO violation in violation of 629.75.2(b) on October 24, 2022 in a separate file and gross misdemeanor interference with a 911 call in violation of 609.72.2(1) on October 24, 2022 in another separate file.
