On March 2, 2026, officers were sent to Loomis at [ADDRESS REDACTED] East, St. Paul, Ramsey County on an employee theft. The company estimated the total loss to be $42,000. Officers spoke to the branch manager who said the company buys back cell phones and resells them for money. They realized they were missing around 169 phones totaling $42,000 in losses. IKEDA LASHONDA JONES [DOB REDACTED] had worked at that branch for about a year. The company began reviewing cell phone and body camera footage.
Video from February 27, 2026, showed Jones working at a desk. Jones turned around several times and grabbed a total of 6 different phones that she concealed in her pants pockets. The phones were valued at a total of $1500. The company plans on reviewing additional video footage to see if they can locate the theft of the additional 169 missing phones. During a Teams video call with the branch manager Jones admitted she had stole the six iPhones on February 27, 2026. Jones was trespassed from the business.
Jones refused to sign the trespass order, and she was arrested. Jones was advised of her constitutional rights and agreed to speak to an investigator. Jones said she had been employed by Loomis since September 2024. Jones said she didn’t remember taking six phones – she recalled taking only a white iPhone with a cracked screen. Jones said the white iPhone’s alarm was sounding, so she placed it in her pants pocket to quiet it. Jones then left her work area and got a drink from a vending machine. Jones claimed she shut the phone off and discarded it in the lunchroom trash bin.
When told that video showed her taking more than one phone on February 26, 2026, Jones sighed, and said she wanted to speak to an attorney.
