On November 7, 2025, at approximately 2:20 AM, Officer Wilkins and Officer Roline with the Rochester Police Department were at a gas station located in Rochester, Minnesota, Olmsted County when Officer Roline recognized the driver of a nearby vehicle from previous interactions with law enforcement. Officer Wilkins entered the vehicle’s license plate data into his computer. The officers confirmed that the vehicle was registered to BRENT HOWARD SCHAD, [DOB REDACTED]. Officer Wilkins observed that Schad was the driver of the vehicle, and that Schad's driving status was canceled inimical to public safety.
Schad's driving status was revoked on October 20, 2025, and notice of cancelation was mailed to Schad on October 21, 2025. Officer Wilkins and Officer Roline observed Schad drive his vehicle out of the parking lot. The officers followed the vehicle and eventually initiated a traffic stop, turning on the police vehicle’s overhead lights. The vehicle slowed, moved into the right lane, and then turned onto a perpendicular road. After turning, the vehicle accelerated rapidly and the officers turned on the squad car’s sirens.
Despite the sirens and lights being deployed, the vehicle continued to accelerate away from the police vehicle, and Officer Wilkins and Officer Roline discontinued pursuit. Schad has an active warrant in Olmsted County Court File ••-CR-••-••••. Therefore, it is unlikely he will respond to a summons, and the State requests a Complaint Warrant. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 609.49.
