On or about June 3, 2026 at approximately 11:35 A.M., Bloomington police responded to a reported carjacking outside of Bloomington Meadows on the 1900 block of 86th Street East in Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The reporting party, C. W. (“Witness” herein) told dispatch she saw a suspect push a female and take her car. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with H. O. (“Victim” herein). Victim [NAME REDACTED] had been sitting in her vehicle, parked outside of the Bloomington Meadows building waiting for her son.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] is a 2018 Infiniti with Minnesota license plate [PLATE REDACTED]. Victim said a suspect, later identified is TRESSA DEE WEEDEN-BOOTZ (“Defendant” herein), approached her. Victim described Defendant as a skinny white male wearing sunglasses and a white shirt. Victim said Defendant approached her vehicle and opened the door. Victim [NAME REDACTED] told her to give over her keys. Victim refused. Victim said she stepped out of her vehicle, and Defendant continued to demand Victim’s keys.
Victim refused, but then Defendant produced something black in their hand, and Victim [NAME REDACTED] could possibly be a weapon. Victim reported Defendant asked Victim if she wanted her life or wanted to die. After hearing this statement, Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim [NAME REDACTED] into her vehicle and drove off. Officers spoke with Witness. Witness stated that she saw Victim and a male suspect wrestling outside. Witness walked outside and saw the suspect get into Victim’s vehicle and drive off.
Witness said she was unable to get a good look at the suspect, but she reported the suspect was white. Officers spoke with building management at Bloomington Meadows. Building management provided security footage from the incident. The video showed a suspect walking north through the building’s parking lot, passing Victim’s vehicle, and then turning around and confronting Victim. The video showed the suspect grabbing something out of Victim’s hand, and the suspect and Victim [NAME REDACTED] on the item.
The suspect in the video was a white individual with blonde hair, a gray t-shirt, jeans, black tennis shoes, and a cross-body bag. Bloomington police were later contacted by Scott County dispatch. Scott County advised that Victim’s vehicle was tracking in Savage, Minnesota. Shortly after, Burnsville police reported they had stopped the vehicle. Burnsville police identified Defendant as the driver of the vehicle. Bloomington police sent a photo from the security video capturing the incident, and Burnsville police confirmed the driver of the vehicle they had stopped matched the suspect in the photo.
Burnsville police transported Defendant to Fairview Southdale Hospital for a medical issue. After a few hours of monitoring, Defendant was discharged from the hospital. Officers informed Defendant that she would be taken into custody upon discharge. An officer walked towards the nurses’ door to request a wheelchair, and Defendant followed him. Defendant attempted to open a locked door. The officer tried to take Defendant into custody, and Defendant turned around and swung, striking the officer on the top of his head.
