On October 26, 2024, a male suspect was in the customer lobby of the Minneapolis Post Office, located at 100 S 1st Street in Minneapolis, Hennepin County. The male suspect approached the USPS clerk and asked for assistance reaching a parcel locker key that was in a PO Box. The clerk went to assist the male suspect and observed him attempting to access [ADDRESS REDACTED], that the glass window had been punched out, and that the suspect was attempting to reach a parcel locker key that was deep in the back of the box.
The male suspect then left and the clerk contacted management. Inspectors responded to the scene and observed seven damaged PO Boxes in the lobby. [ADDRESS REDACTED] had broken glass from the door in the box and blood-like substance inside the box. Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Forensic Crime Laboratory responded and collected a DNA sample of the substance. USPS clerks determined that at least two USPS parcel locker keys had been stolen from inside the seven compromised boxes. These parcel locker keys unlock larger temporary parcel lockers in the same lobby.
Inspectors reviewed video and observed the male suspect that the clerk had described. USPS clerks removed all parcels from the 120 lockers based on the missing keys and damaged boxes. USPS maintenance repaired the PO Boxes and had to re-key the parcel lockers due to the stolen keys, resulting in a financial loss of $9,087.12. On September 18, 2025, Hennepin County Forensics produced a lab reported indicating the blood-like substance found inside the PO box had received a CODIS match to JEREMIAH MARKUS BROWN [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein.
Police reviewed surveillance footage and DVS and arrest photos, and confirmed Defendant matched the male suspect from the incident. On January 5, 2026, the investigator contacted Defendant's Stearn's County probation officer who indicated Defendant had a Minneapolis address but uses the USPS general delivery for mail. On January 9, 2026, the investigator met with the USPS clerk and asked if she recognized Defendant's name, to which she did and said she had seen Defendant at the post office repeatedly since the incident.
At present, Defendant is not in custody. The State requests this complaint issue as a warrant as Defendant has several active warrants and location is unknown.
