On April 9, 2026, at approximately 12:43 A.M., police responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. The caller, GSB, told dispatch that his wife stabbed him in the back with a kitchen knife then left on foot when he called 911. Upon arrival, police met with GSB, who confirmed that he was stabbed. GSB lifted his shirt, and police observed a small laceration on his upper back. GSB identified the person who stabbed him as his wife, VANESSA LISA PRYOR – [DOB REDACTED]. GSB stated that PRYOR woke up very drunk, they got into an argument, and she stabbed him in the back when he tried to separate himself by walking out of the room.
GSB said that PRYOR gets violent when she is drunk. GSB was not very cooperative with police and did not want to get PRYOR in trouble. GSB refused to allow police to photograph his wound. Police contacted PRYOR by phone. PRYOR said she did not trust the police and did not trust GSB. PRYOR told police that she and GSB were arguing, that he abuses her, and he prevented her from calling 911. PRYOR also stated that GSB tried to prevent her from leaving, and she was able to leave when he went to talk to their children.
PRYOR reported that GSB punched her several times in the face. PRYOR said GSB was abusive towards her, and that’s why she had to defend herself. PRYOR declined to provide her location to police and ended the call. Fifteen minutes later, PRYOR called police back and stated that GSB was calling her from different numbers and trying to figure out where she was. In a follow-up statement, GSB said he and PRYOR, his wife of two years, were drinking and arguing. GSB confirmed that PRYOR stabbed him but said it was not that serious.
GSB reported that she probably stabbed him with a knife. GSB told the investigator that he did not need medical attention, did not need stitches, and had not gone to the doctor. GSB said he did not want anything to happen. When the investigator asked if they could meet in person so she could see his wound, GBS responded, “It’s not that serious,” and said people fight and argue. The investigator also received a phone call from PRYOR, who said she did not know why police came. PRYOR stated that GSB is her life partner, and they had been married for one year.
PRYOR reported that they were arguing, and GSB told her not to leave. PRYOR said GSB took her phone, and they fought over it. PRYOR stated there may have been some slapping during the struggle but not a physical fight. PRYOR denied knowing why GSB called police and said that if he did, it was to be dramatic. PRYOR also denied stabbing GSB and said that there were probably scratches on his back from having sex.
