On 11/01/2025, Officers were dispatched to a report of an assault that occurred at a business located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] 24, Plymouth, Hennepin County. An Officer arrived and was flagged down by bystanders who reported that the perpetrator had fled the scene in a grey vehicle. The Officer then observed a grey vehicle that matched the description provided and observed the vehicle driving recklessly through an intersection. The Officer then activated the squad vehicle’s emergency lights and siren and got behind the vehicle as it was stopped at an intersection.
The vehicle then accelerated through the red light and did not stop for approximately two blocks as the Officer pursued it. The vehicle eventually came to a stop and the driver, identified as JONATHAN TYLER RANALLO, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, exited the vehicle and laid down as Officers gave commands. Officers then detained Defendant. Officers noticed the smell of alcohol on Defendant’s breath, and when asked, Defendant stated that he had been drinking alcohol. Defendant provided a Preliminary Breath Test, which returned a BAC of.215. Officers then applied for and were granted a search warrant for a blood or urine sample from Defendant.
The search warrant was presented to Defendant, and he was instructed that refusing to comply would be a crime. Defendant refused to provide a blood or urine sample. Officers responded to the business where the assault occurred and met with a known adult male, Victim herein. Victim [NAME REDACTED] inside the business when Defendant entered and began shouting profanities and racial slurs, including making statements about the Aryan Brotherhood and white supremacy. Victim, a person of color, confronted Defendant and told him he needed to leave.
Defendant then left and headed towards his vehicle before turning back and stating to Victim, “I’ll beat your ass and f*** your girl in front of you.” Defendant then charged at Victim [NAME REDACTED]. The assault eventually stopped, and Defendant went to his vehicle and Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant then reentered the business and began assaulting Victim again. Defendant then exited the business and fled in his vehicle, which led to Defendant fleeing from Officers. Officers observed Victim’s cheek and lip were swollen and there was a cut on his right elbow, and Victim stated that his chest felt like it was burning.
Defendant is currently in custody.
