On or about January 6, 2026, at approximately 9:35 A.M., Officer Satzke of the Rochester police Department was dispatched to a residence in the 2300 block of Crystal Bay Ct. SW, in Rochester, Olmsted County, Minnesota, on the report of a theft. Upon arrival, Officer Satzke met with an adult male (fully identified in relevant police reports – hereinafter “Victim”). Victim reported that checks were stolen from his mailbox and that he discovered the theft when he noticed a check had been cashed on his bank statement.
Victim never gave anyone permission to use the checks. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was written on 01/02/2026 and cashed on 01/05/2026 for $1,600.00. The check was made payable to “Misty Wenthold” ([DOB REDACTED] – hereinafter “Defendant”). Victim confirmed the handwriting and signature on the check were not his. Ofc. Satzke contacted MBT bank where the checks were cashed and spoke to an employee (fully identified in relevant police reports – hereinafter “Witness”). Witness stated that she was present when the check was cashed.
Defendant was the passenger in a vehicle at the drive through when the check was cashed. Surveillance video was obtained from the transaction, and officers identified the passenger in the vehicle as Defendant. After the check was cashed, the driver is seen handing Defendant the envelope containing the money. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 609.49.
