On 03/14/2026 at approximately 2207 hours, St. Paul Police responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED] in St. Paul, Ramsey County on report of eight people pointing guns at each other. Dispatch also heard yelling and then screaming during the call. Upon arrival, officers went to the sixth floor and saw Trey Jordan ARD (DOB/1999-03-13) at the elevator near the party room. ARD was trying to hide a gun with an extended magazine. When officers tried to take ARD into custody, the weapon he was carrying discharged and he was injured when the bullet grazed his leg.
ARD was taken into custody and, from his person, police recovered a 7.62 X 39 Pioneer Arms Corp Hell Pup rifle (serial # PAC25PL33873) and two loaded magazines. Officers spoke with several people who were in the nearby party room. None claimed to have seen anything. ARD was transported to Regions Hospital. In the process, ARD told police that he had a spent bullet casing stuck in his sweatshirt. So, before ARD was transferred to hospital staff, police shook his clothing and recovered a single rifle casing (STR 24 7.67 by 39). St. Paul Police’s critical incident protocol was initiated and the BCA was called in to assist with the investigation, including interviewing ARD after he was Mirandized.
In a summary of the interview provided to police, ARD acknowledged that he was not supposed to possess a firearm and said he had possessed this firearm for about a month. He said his “baby mama” lives in the apartment and he stays there sometimes. Tonight, he said, a family member named “Daphiana” said there was a dispute in the party room and people had guns. ARD said he went to the party room but the problem people had already left. So, he went to the elevator which is when police arrived. He said that the firearm that he had in his jacket pocket went off when police rushed him.
Further investigation of the matter is being conducted by the BCA. Based upon ARD’s felony conviction history, he is ineligible to possess firearms and/or ammunition.
