On December 15, 2025, around 8:00 A.M., J. D. Z. [DOB REDACTED] called 911 to report being assaulted the prior evening. Police went to 230 57th Ave., in the city of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, to investigate. Officers spoke with J. D. Z. Who said that his friend, later fully identified as Justin Aldous Greene [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the Defendant, had physically assaulted him while the pair were drinking in the hotel room the night before. He said that around midnight the Defendant began to proposition him for sex, and when he refused began urinating on the floor and on J. D. Z.’s feet.
J. D. Z. Told him to leave and then tried to move the Defendant to the bathroom, and the Defendant pushed him onto the bed and began to punch him in the face and head repeatedly. J. D. Z. Estimated that he was struck approximately twenty or thirty times in the face and head before he lost consciousness. While striking him the Defendant said that he was going to kill J. D. Z. J. D. Z. Reported that he felt scared for his life and believed that he was going to die. Police photo documented multiple injuries to his face and head, including fresh cuts to his nose, left temple and above his left eye.
In addition, a black and dark purple eye socket. When J. D. Z. Awoke the Defendant was gone. His eye was so swollen that he was unable to see anything out of his left eye. Officers also spoke with the resident which shared a wall with the Defendant and J. D. Z. He told police that around 1:00 A.M. He heard two males who sounded like they were arguing with one another. After the yelling he heard a loud sound like someone punching the wall. Officers also located the Defendant and conducted a post-Miranda Statement with him.
The Defendant told police that he and J. D. Z. Were drinking at the hotel the night before and had known each other for several months and were friends. He said that J. D. Z. Approached him from behind and placed him in a choke hold and squeezed. The Defendant claimed that he feared for his life, so he elbowed J. D. Z. To prevent further assault. He also claimed that his knee was cut during the altercation. Police did not observe any signs of injury to his neck, but photo documented it anyway. In addition, they photo documented the injury that the Defendant alleged was caused during the altercation.
It appeared that the injury was already scabbed over from healing and was an older injury.
