On June 17, 2025, deputies with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a unit (“the Unit”) of an apartment located on the 1800 block of 3rd Avenue South in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Jeanette Louise Nye ([DOB redacted]) (“Defendant”) resided in the Unit. Deputies arrived at the Unit and announced their presence. Deputies knocked on the door but there was no response. Deputies opened the door and Defendant was standing in the entryway; she was detained. Officers conducted a security sweep of the Unit and located an adult male sitting on a bathtub in a bathroom.
The male was detained. Inside of a nearby closet was a juvenile. Deputies began to search the Unit. The Unit was a small studio type room with one open area that served as the bedroom. Officers looked under a pillow and found a firearm determined to be a Glock 21. On a table, officers found a plastic bag which contained a small amount of suspected Methamphetamine (“Meth”). Meth is a schedule-II controlled substance. Officer located a white safe on the floor by the bed. Defendant unlocked the safe herself using her phone.
In the safe was mailing in the name of Defendant. Also, in the safe was a colored box, dark box, glass plate, and a blue makeup bag. Inside of the colored box were three baggies. The first baggie contained Meth which weighed 15.73- grams. The second baggie contained Meth which weighed 11.53-grams. The third baggie contained Meth and weighed 9.12-grams. Inside of the dark box were three baggies. The first baggie contained Meth which weighed 9.25-grams. The second baggie contained Cocaine, a schedule-II controlled substance, and weighed 0.32-grams.
The third baggie contained 2.5 Alprazolam pills. On the glass plate was a small amount of Meth. In the blue Makeup bag were four baggies. The first baggie contained Meth which weighed 28.18-grams. The second baggie contained Meth which weighed 28.00-grams. The third baggie contained Meth which weighed 7.15-grams. The Fourth baggie contained Meth which weighed 7.30-grams. Under the bed, officers found a journal. Inside of the journal were several pages which appeared to be a drug ledger and included amounts and weights of sold narcotics including dates that they were sold.
The last sale date was June 16, 2025. Officers provided Defendant with her Miranda warning; Defendant made the following statements: (1) Defendant smokes the narcotics; (2) the Meth that was found was hers and the male’s and that she was aware of it; and (3) the gun that was found was hers and that she purchased it the previous day. In total, deputies found 116.26-grams of Methamphetamine and 0.32-grams of Cocaine. Due to the nature of this offense, a warrant is requested to ensure public safety and Defendant’s appearance in court proceedings.
