On or about December 31 of 2025 Officers with the Brooklyn Park Police Department responded to a report for damage to property located on the 8700 Block of North Maplebrook Circle, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Upon arrival Officers spoke to the owner of the residence KAT who stated that a tenant had rented the property since September and moved out the previous day. The Tenant was identified as TE. TE did not pay rent and was evicted. When the owner returned to the property that day he noticed that there was a lot of trash and personal items left around the home, along with damage to the microwave and holes in multiple places on the walls.
He located a deceased dog in a cage in the garage. Law enforcement was not able to get in contact with TE. Officers located the cage with the dog in the garage. There appeared to be a lot of dog feces all over the garage and the cage was full of feces as well. The cage was locked and the dog appeared emaciated. The dog was transported to be preserved for testing. On January 6th, the owner of the property received information from TE, claiming that she rented the property to someone who was homeless and stated that she would come to court to clear her name of this mess.
The owner stated that on a few occasions he checked on the residence and encountered a woman who was not TE who appeared to be living at the residence. The day of the eviction, a male was also located living at the residence. A male with the initials LR who made a civil complaint about losing his deposit at the address claimed to have been renting it from a woman. LR was living at the address from September until the eviction in December with a woman identified as Dashinque Michelle Hall [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein.
LR said the dog belonged to her and died early in their time living at that residence, remaining in the garage for months. He said that she “let it die.” When speaking with the Defendant she admitted to staying at the address but denied possession of the dog. The dog was taken to the University of Minnesota. After a necropsy was performed the cause of death was determined to be emaciation and dehydration, there were no diseases found present in the dog. The Defendant is not in custody on these charges.
