On October 14, 2025, Ja’khayia Deloris Davis, [DOB REDACTED], and Milan Jazel Gaynor, [DOB REDACTED], exited Rosedale Mall, Roseville, Ramsey County, both carrying large bags filled with items that they had stolen from PacSun. They worked in concert, arriving together in the same vehicle, inundating Pacsun staff with frequent requests to obtain more merchandise from the stock room, filling bags with the unpaid for merchandise while staff were distracted, quickly exiting the store together, placing the stolen merchandise in the vehicle, then attempting to run back into the mall when officers ordered them to stop.
Officers recovered $561.61 stolen merchandise from PacSun inside the vehicle. They also recovered additional merchandise in bags with tags still on them from Bath and Body Works and Old Navy. The total verified value of the additional stolen merchandise equaled $668.01. In a post-Miranda interview, Gaynor admitted to the thefts from PacSun. She also admitted that the additional items inside the vehicle were stolen from different stores on earlier dates. During a search incident to arrest, officers recovered additional PacSun merchandise on Davis’s person, bringing the total theft from PacSun to $637.55. Officers also recovered a fake New York driver’s license with Davis’s photo, but an erroneous date of birth.
The driver’s license number on the fake license was not on file. Davis gave several false names before officers were able to accurately identify her. She had multiple warrants for her arrest. When officers informed Davis that she was going to jail for her warrants, she claimed to be 8 months pregnant. She further claimed to be experiencing a blood sugar crisis. Officers called medics. While medics transported her to Fairview Riverside Hospital, Davis physically fought with medics to flee from the ambulance, forcing the ambulance to pull over on 35W. Officers entered the ambulance and restrained Davis.
Davis threatened to bite an officer during the ordeal. At the hospital staff confirmed that Davis was not pregnant and was not experiencing a medical emergency. Officers booked Davis on her warrants while they further investigated the additional stolen merchandise from other stores found inside the vehicle.
