On May 8, 2026, at approximately 11:34 A.M., police responded to Little Oven, [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, on a report of property damage and the suspect being armed with a knife. Police located the suspect, later identified as JAMISON WAYNE LANG – [DOB REDACTED], and two witnesses near the intersection of White Bear and Fremont Avenues. One witness, AMS, told police that he was got off the bus and saw LANG throw a brick through the window of Little Oven. AMS said LANG tried to get onto the bus AMS just got off, but people told the driver to stop then LANG got off.
AMS and another male, TD, followed LANG to ensure that police located him. AMS reported that LANG walked in and out of traffic and into yards. As AMS and TD followed LANG, AMS stated that LANG stopped and faced them. AMS reported that LANG pulled out a knife and said they were harassing him and if they got close, they were going to die. AMS told LANG that police were on the way. AMS stated that LANG tried to cut him with the knife twice by making slicing side to side passes at AMS within a foot of him.
AMS reported that he backed up when LANG swung the knife at him. AMS said TD took out a firearm and pointed it at LANG then told him that he would shoot if he pulled the knife again. AMS reported that LANG walked away, and he and TD continued to follow LANG until police arrived. TD told police that he observed LANG sitting at the bus stop destroying it. TD showed police a video of LANG jerking erratically while sitting at the bus stop. TD reported that he is a bus driver for Metro Transit, which is why he paid attention to LANG at the bus stop.
TD said he went into the Little Oven, and shortly thereafter, a window was broken with an item he believed to be a brick. TD stated that no one else was outside but LANG, and he believed LANG broke the window. TD and AMS followed LANG. TD reported that LANG had a knife, hammer, and other tools, so he took out his firearm in case LANG tried to do anything with them. LANG told police that he was sitting on a bench breaking cases he found when someone threw something at him from a moving vehicle. LANG said he heard glass break then turned around to see if it was broken.
LANG stated that he only damaged his property and does not know how the other glass broke. LANG reported that one of the males pointed a firearm at him but did not elaborate further. The officer noted that the conversation with LANG was all over the place and did not make sense, so it was difficult to understand. Police recovered a knife from LANG that matched the description provided by witnesses. Another officer went to the Little Oven and spoke with JEL, who told police that his employees informed him that they observed LANG exit a city bus then sit on a bus stop bench.
