On February 25, 2026, at approximately 9:30A.M., Minnesota State Patrol Trooper Myren was sitting stationary in the median crossover on Interstate 94 when he observed a silver Chevrolet Malibu pass by his position. Based on his training, Trooper Myren believed that the window tint on the Chevrolet was much darker than allowed by law. Trooper Myren also observed hanging objects observing the driver’s view. Trooper Myren maneuvered behind the vehicle, activated his overhead lights, and stopped the vehicle near the Clearwater rest stop on Interstate 94, in Wright County, Minnesota.
Trooper Myren made contact with the driver and noted the overwhelming odor of cannabis coming from the vehicle. The driver, later identified as Damarco Martez Morrison, 11 13 00, hereinafter defendant, reported that he did not have identification on him. The defendant verbally identified himself as ALM 07 01 02 (later verified to be an actual person). Based upon the defendant’s behavior, Trooper Myren believed the defendant had falsely reported his name. Trooper Myren requested that the defendant exit the vehicle.
In response, the defendant shifted the vehicle into drive and rapidly accelerated. Trooper Myren pursued with lights and siren activated. The defendant eventually exited the interstate and began to flee on county roads. During the pursuit, the defendant travelled at speeds of approximately 90 miles per hour, drove onto oncoming lanes, and drove through a yard in an attempt to evade. While traveling on County Road 24, Clearwater Township, Wright County, Minnesota, the defendant drove onto spike strips set by another Trooper.
The defendant was taken into custody. While being booked, it was discovered that the defendant is a fugitive from justice from another state.
