On June 20, 2025, at approximately 10:42 AM, Officer Red-Hill of the Rochester Police Department responded to a past action theft report at a business located in Southwest Rochester, Olmsted County, Minnesota. Upon arrival, Officer Red-Hill spoke with Witness 1 (adult male fully identified in police reports), who is a loss prevention agent employed by the business. Witness 1 reported that on June 10, 2025, CHAD WILLIAM HOLST, [DOB REDACTED], placed a bow on hold for customization with intent to purchase.
On June 12, 2025, Holst removed the bow and an accompanying magnifying scope from the business without rendering payment. Witness 1 stated that business staff contacted Holst multiple times regarding the bow and magnifying scope. Holst initially denied taking the bow but subsequently returned both the bow and scope to the business on June 18, 2025. Video surveillance footage from June 12, 2025, shows Holst removing the bow from the premises without stopping at any point of sale. Video surveillance footage from June 18, 2025, shows Holst entering the business carrying a bow-shaped item in a bag and returning it to the customer service desk.
Witness 1 reported the combined value of the bow and magnifying scope to be $1,549.98. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE.
