On June 16, 2025, Carver County Sheriff’s Deputy Larson responded to reports of employee theft at a business in Chanhassen, Carver County, Minnesota. Witness 1, an adult female fully identified in police reports, reported that an employee, FELICIA ANN MASTERS [DOB REDACTED], had been using her work account to purchase personal items from Amazon. Witness 1 estimated that Masters had made over $32,000 in personal purchases using the account since December 2023. Witness 1 provided Deputy Larson with documents related to the purchases, surveillance videos from the business, and photographs related to the purchases.
On July 1, 2025, Detective Rosholt was assigned to perform a follow up investigation. In his review, Detective Rosholt learned that Masters had been an employee of the business since 2017. In her current role, Masters was responsible for purchasing work related items through a marketplace based on employee requests. Through an internal audit at the business, management learned that between December 2023 and May 2025, Masters had purchased $32,881.79 worth of non-work-related items. Such items included a curling iron, cell phones, cowboy boots, and a television.
Detective Rosholt reviewed footage of an interview between Masters and her management. In the interview, management confronted Masters with the unauthorized purchases. Masters denied having memory regarding the purchases and did not have an explanation for the charges. Masters further stated that she had not given her business login information to anyone outside of the business. On July 11, 2025, Detective Rosholt spoke with Witness 2, an adult female fully identified in police reports. Witness 2 reported that Masters’ typical working hours were between 5:30 AM and 2:30 PM and that it would be odd for her to be present at the building hours before work began.
Upon reviewing surveillance footage, Witness 2 found that Masters arrived early at the business on multiple occasions and transported packages to her personal vehicle. Masters was put on leave during this investigation. After Masters was put on leave, Witness 2 reported that additional items arrived at the business for Masters that appeared to be non-work related. These items included earbuds, drywall hangers, an egg separator, and solar lights. Detective Rosholt continued the investigation to gain more information regarding the theft.
During the investigation, Detective Rosholt learned that Masters was residing at an apartment complex in Ramsey, Minnesota. On February 18, 2026, at approximately 9:21 AM, investigators executed a search warrant at Masters’ apartment. An adult male answered the door when the investigators announced their presence. The male stated that Masters was not home and gave the investigators permission to search the residence pursuant to the warrant. Dearing their search, investigators located an array of items that matched the description of non-work-related purchases from the business.
