On January 1, 2026, officers responded to a domestic-abuse-in-progress call at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Call remarks stated that the caller’s boyfriend, Jeremiah Anderson, had entered the caller’s residence and damaged property. The caller noted that the suspect is known to carry a black handgun. The suspect was no longer on scene. Upon arrival, officers met with the caller (“Victim”), who appeared visibly stressed and was crying. Victim reported having a romantic relationship with the suspect, whom officers fully identified as Defendant JEREMIAH DANO ANDERSON, born on [DOB REDACTED]. Victim explained that she and Defendant had been hanging out when Defendant suddenly accused Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant grabbed Victim’s neck with both hands and threw her on the bed.
Victim described Defendant shaking her while placing his hands around her neck. Defendant then grabbed the flat screen television from Victim’s bedroom, threw it on the ground, and stomped on the television. Officers saw the broken television with a boot print on the screen. Multiple times, Victim [NAME REDACTED] had threatened her with a black handgun by pointing it at her and saying, “I’m gonna kill you.” Officers located a black firearm magazine inside a drawer in Victim’s bedroom. Two days later, January 3, 2026, officers responded to the same location.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] had returned to the residence. Victim [NAME REDACTED] could not freely speak due to Defendant’s presence at the scene. Officers located Defendant at the scene and arrested him. Victim told officers that before they arrested Defendant, he had placed a black handgun under the bedcovers in a bedroom. Officers located a black handgun with an extended magazine on the coroner of the bed partially covered by a bedspread—as Victim [NAME REDACTED]. This location is also where officers had seen Defendant standing upon first entering the residence.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] had been asleep and awoke to Defendant at the back door trying to enter the residence. Defendant had previously broken the lock on this door, so Victim had attempted to barricade the door. When Defendant could not get in, he yelled for Victim to open the door so he could get his property. Defendant gained entry without Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim [NAME REDACTED] on and off since 2021 and have previously lived together at the residence. An investigator took a follow-up statement from Victim.
In this statement, Victim [NAME REDACTED] had been dating for about four or five months, with Defendant staying overnight at Victim's residence a few times. For the January 1 incident, Victim stated that she returned home from going out with friends to find Defendant at the residence with Victim’s mother and Victim’s child. Before Defendant strangled Victim, he produced a black handgun from his front jacket pocket, waved the handgun around, accused Victim [NAME REDACTED], stated, “I’ll kill you,” and called Victim “a stupid bi**h.” Defendant never pointed the handgun at Victim.
