On January 14, 2026, officers responded to a call for theft of a motor vehicle and met with the reporting party at a residence at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in the City of Minneapolis, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota. Officers learned that J. Q. P. Had posted a Dodge Charger MN JEREMY4 on Facebook Marketplace and had been messaging with an “Eric Johnson” regarding selling the vehicle. J. Q. P. Told officers that the car belonged to his mother, B. P. A. J. Q. P. And “Johnson” agreed to a price of $9,600. “Johnson” arrived at the residence and J. Q. P. Signed over title for the vehicle after receiving the money. “Johnson” left immediately after the title was signed over.
After “Johnson” left, J. Q. P. Realized that the cash “Johnson” gave him was actually fake prop cash. J. Q. P. Provided officers with screenshots of the communications he had with “Johnson,” and officers determined that name affiliated with the account was fake. Officers were aware of other incidents involving an individual using fake names on Facebook Marketplace and paying for the items with fake prop cash. Following one of these incidents, officers arrested Blake Chevalier Lark [DOB REDACTED] and obtained a search warrant for his phone.
Officers located pictures of the title, VIN, and a Carfax report for JEREMY4 on the phone and observed that Lark’s Facebook account had blocked J. Q. P.’s Facebook account. Officers followed up with J. Q. P., who stated that he saw Lark selling JEREMY4 on Facebook Marketplace and had contacted Lark to set up a meeting to confront him, at which point Lark blocked J. Q. P., consistent with the information found on Lark’s phone. The State respectfully requests that this complaint issue by warrant as Lark is currently in custody on unrelated matters.
