On 04/25/2026 at about 1:25am, Moorhead Officer E. Broer responded to a residence in Moorhead, Clay County regarding a domestic disturbance. The identified 911 caller advised that they were the parent of one of the involved parties, they observed via security camera that their adult child [NAME REDACTED], [DOB REDACTED] (Defendant) was acting angrily and “reactive” to another individual in the residence later identified as T. B. On scene, the officer made contact with Defendant and TB. Defendant initially prevented the officer from speaking with TB separately.
The officer learned from TB that they had been staying at the residence for some time, and they were in a romantic relationship with Defendant for 4 months. Earlier, TB had wanted to leave the residence. Defendant followed them outside, yelling. They returned inside. Defendant became upset again. Defendant’s friend IR (Victim), who resides at the residence, came out of their room. Defendant began arguing with Victim. TB stepped in between the parties to intervene, and then decided to separate themselves and went downstairs, where TB heard continued yelling.
TB heard someone mention that police had been called and heard mention of having a knife. They tried to leave, but Defendant insisted they stay. Officer Broer spoke with Victim and learned that they have been close friends with Defendant for many years and have resided at Defendant’s residence since October 2025. Earlier, Victim was in their room when TB called them out. Victim came out and saw Defendant holding a knife in her hand, attempting to cut herself. Victim told Defendant to put the knife down.
Defendant became angry at Victim. Defendant tried to come at Victim. TB physically held Defendant back. Defendant grabbed the knife and came at Victim. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was going to stab them. Victim described the knife as having a long blade with jagged edges. Defendant held the knife pointed forward, in a stabbing position, as she advanced toward Victim. Victim was scared and ran to avoid further confrontation. Victim told Defendant they were going to call the police. Defendant said if Victim [NAME REDACTED], Defendant would never speak to Victim again.
Instead of calling police themselves, Victim called Defendant’s mother. Officer Mark also responded to the call and spoke with Defendant, who was upset. Defendant was on the phone with their mother. The officer heard Defendant state she was never going to stab anyone. Defendant told the officer that earlier, when TB was going to leave, she took a knife from the kitchen. TB called Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant held the knife in a posture toward Victim to scare them and make them leave.
She stabbed the knife into a door. Victim went to their room and called Defendant’s mother, who then called police. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
