On January 22, 2026, Chaska Police Officer Zachman responded to reports of a theft at a business in Chaska, Carver County, Minnesota. Witness, an adult male fully identified in police reports, reported that ANDRE TORRENCE GRANDBERRY [DOB REDACTED] rented a Bobcat, trailer, and dirt bucket on December 20, 2025. Witness provided Officer Zachman with a written contract between the business and Grandberry confirming the rental agreement. The rental agreement states that Grandberry was to return the equipment by December 21, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Witness also provided Officer Zachman with a copy of a letter titled ‘Demand to Return Rented Equipment Advisory Letter’ which was sent via USPS Certified Mail to Grandberry’s listed address in Illinois.
The tracking number for the letter indicates that it was delivered to Grandberry’s listed address successfully. Officer Zachman obtained an image of Grandberry from the Illinois Secretary of State Police to confirm that he was the individual who rented the items in Chaska. The photo provided by Illinois matched the driver’s license Grandberry provided when renting the items. Officer Zachman then searched for Grandberry’s listed address in Illinois. The address returned to a recovery center and not a private residence.
Grandberry has not responded to the letter nor has he returned the rented items. Witness reported that the total value of items stolen is approximately $54,600. It is unlikely that Grandberry will respond to a summons, as his listed address is not a residence and he has not responded to the advisory letter regarding the stolen items. Grandberry's location is also not reasonably discoverable due to his outdated address. The State requests that a complaint warrant issue. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
