In court file 07-CR-20-4218, WALTER GREEN, [DOB REDACTED], was convicted of Violation of Controlled Substance Law in the Third Degree, felony conviction 2/22/2023. GREEN is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition. On March 24, 2026, Hennepin County Sheriff Office Detectives conducted surveillance on GREEN on efforts to take him into custody on outstanding warrants on charges of felony Possession of Machine Guns and Violation of Controlled Substance in the Second Degree out of Le Seurer County.
On March 25, 2026, at approximately 11:30 A.M., officers saw a black Nissan Rouge that was observed during surveillance the previous day arrive in the parking lot to the east of 191 Arlington, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey. GREEN (in driver’s seat) and another male were inside the vehicle. As officers positioned their squad cars-with emergency lights activated- to box in the vehicle, GREEN and the other occupant of the vehicle-Boatman- fled on foot. Officers followed GREEN and BOATMAN. BOATMAN was taken into custody.
BOATMAN also had warrants for his arrest. As GREEN ran away west on Arlington Avenue, Officers saw him discard a firearm into the air and across Arlington Avenue. The firearm landed in the grass on the south side of Arlington Avenue East. The firearm- Glock 27,.40 caliber- had a loaded magazine, round in the chamber. Eventually, officers caught GREEN and arrested him. At the jail, GREEN attempted to slip his handcuffs to the front of his body and he manipulated a sock. During a search of his sock, a loose white powder was found.
A plastic bag tied in a knot was on the floor. Inside GREEN’s left jacket pocket, a bag with a white powdery substance was found. The suspected drugs that were recovered were field tested. Item #4,.18 grams (total weight), field tested positive for presence of fentanyl. Item #5,.16 grams (total weight), field tested positive for presence of fentanyl. Item #6, 3.92 grams (total weight), field tested positive for presence of fentanyl. Item #8, 13.89 grams (total weight), field tested positive for the presence of cocaine.
Item #8 was found on GREEN at the jail. Items 4-6 were thrown by BOATMAN near the vehicle.
