Ariel Vences-LopezRepeat

On 12/20/2025, Minneapolis Police responded to a suspicious black Kia sedan with dealer plate 03359523 that was reported abandoned with front end damage at 3401 24th Avenue South in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers arrived and observed a person later identified as Ariel Vences Lopez [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, in the driver's seat. As the officers approached, Defendant drove off and fled and accelerated rapidly and ran a stop sign and crashed into two parked vehicles near 34th Street and 22nd Avenue South.

Defendant then fled on foot, slipping multiple times on ice. Officers pursued, gave commands, and took Defendant into custody. Police contacted the owner of the Kia who confirmed his car was stolen and that he gave no one permission to take or drive the vehicle. Defendant was transported to HCMC for evaluation due to the crash. Defendant was released from the Hennepin Couty Jail on December 19, 2025, and subsequently committed this offense the following day. At this time, the State requests a warrant issue for Defendant.
