On July 17, 2025, at approximately 11:37 PM, officers responded to a report of a carjacking of a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver behind the restaurant located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the driver, identified as Victim, [NAME REDACTED] was in the back of the restaurant near his delivery vehicle with a car door open when a black male came from behind a grey dumpster wielding a black handgun in both hands. The gunman pointed it and commanded, “Put your hands up, and give me your phone and car keys.” Under duress, Victim complied and gave the gunman his car keys and cell phone.
The gunman then took Victim’s vehicle, a 2018 Nissan Altima, and drove away, striking a dumpster and damaging the vehicle in the process. Victim [NAME REDACTED], if he saw the gunman again, he could identify him. Investigators obtained surveillance video of the carjacking from Domino’s, which corroborated Victim’s account. Investigators learned that Victim’s cell phone and vehicle had technology which allowed individuals to track their locations. Investigators received several updates on the location of Victim’s vehicle and located it in a parking lot behind 3122 23rd Ave S. In Minneapolis in the early morning hours of July 18, 2025. The vehicle was towed and held for forensic testing.
Forensic scientists examined the vehicle and located fingerprint impressions, which were sufficient for comparison to known individuals. They located several fingerprint impressions which matched Victim’s fingerprints, but they also located a print on the interior handle of the front driver’s door, which was a match for an adult male identified as Dijon Davis, the defendant in this case. Investigators obtained a known photograph of Defendant, created a six-person photographic lineup, and presented the lineup to Victim.
Victim immediately identified Defendant as the gunman, stating that he was 100% sure that Defendant was the individual who robbed him at gunpoint and stole his vehicle, stating, “That’s him! That’s him! I know those eyes anywhere!” and emphasizing Defendant’s distinct facial structure. During the course of their investigation, investigators learned that, after Defendant robbed Victim on July 17, 2025, he committed multiple other carjackings of food delivery drivers over a two-week period in South Minneapolis, including the carjacking of a Chinese-food driver on July 19, 2025 (charges pending) and the carjacking of another pizza-delivery driver on July 28, 2025 (Case #27-CR-25-19476). On July 29, 2025, officers located Defendant driving the vehicle he stole in the July 28, 2025 carjacking, and a high-speed pursuit ensued during which Defendant fled to South Minneapolis, jumped out of the vehicle near his known residence, and fled on foot.
Officers apprehended him and identified him as Defendant. Defendant was found in possession of a.40-caliber handgun at that time. On July 30, 2025, investigators obtained a DNA sample from Defendant for the purpose of comparison testing. Testing is pending.
