On January 3, 2026, Officer Milinkovich was traveling southbound on County Rd 83 near County Rd 42 in Scott County, Minnesota, when he observed a 2001 Gray Chevy Tahoe with MN Lic: UB4156 with an inoperable rear lamp. Officer Milinkovich initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as E. R. A. E. R. A stated she did not have a license. The Officer observed a male passenger in the front seat identified as A. A. K. And also observed a female passenger in the rear seat identified as JEAN MARIE VANVALKENBURG, [DOB REDACTED] hereinafter referred to as Defendant.
Defendant was the registered owner of the vehicle. Upon review of E. R. A.'s information, Officer Milinkovich observed her license status was revoked, and E. R. A had a felony warrant out of Pine County for a probation violation. E. R. A. Was arrested for the warrant. During the arrest, E. R. A. Stated that she had some "dope" on her. During a search incident to arrest, Officer Milinkovich located a plastic bag in her front jean pocket which contained a white, crystalized substance, which later tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 12.6g. Officer Milinkovich spoke with Defendant who stated she had two purses in the vehicle, and the officer observed Defendant go through them, during which Defendant stated that only marijuana was inside the purse.
A search of the car revealed the following: drug paraphernalia and a small clear container with white, crystallized substance was found in Defendant's tan purse, and drug paraphernalia along with two white crystalized rocks were found in a black purse that had buttons on the front of it. The suspected methamphetamine located in the tan purse tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 1.6g. The suspected methamphetamine in the black purse tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 1.3g. During a Mirandized statement, E. R. A admitted the black purse was hers and stated she was aware of the methamphetamine inside of it.
