Victim [NAME REDACTED] on January 30, 2026, at approximately 4:00 pm, he had parked Vehicle in the alley behind his residence in the City of Winona. Victim had attached a battery charger to Vehicle to charge the battery. Victim went to the store and returned approximately 20 minutes later. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was no longer in the alley. Victim checked his security cameras and observed a white female get into Vehicle and drive away. Victim had not given permission for anyone to use Vehicle. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was worth $2,000 and had $8,000 worth of fishing equipment inside Vehicle.
Officers viewed the security footage and based on prior professional contacts, recognized the person who took Vehicle as Bridget Ann Martinson, [DOB REDACTED] (“Defendant”). Victim [NAME REDACTED] was going to drive around and look for Vehicle. At around 6:11 pm, Victim [NAME REDACTED] said Victim was following Vehicle as it drove in the City of Winona. Officers responded to the area and located the stolen Vehicle. Officers pulled behind the stopped Vehicle and ordered the driver to exit Vehicle.
Based upon prior professional contacts, Officers were able to recognize the driver as Defendant. Defendant initially refused to exit Vehicle and yelled to Officers the owner had given her the keys to Vehicle. Defendant eventually exited Vehicle and was placed in handcuffs. Victim looked through Vehicle to determine whether his property was missing. Victim’s property was still in Vehicle. In addition to his property, Victim told Officers there were several alcoholic products and articles of clothing in Vehicle did not belong to Victim.
Officers read Defendant her Miranda warnings, but Defendant refused to speak with Officers.
