All of the conduct described herein occurred within the County of St. Louis, State of Minnesota, unless otherwise noted. On May 25th, 2026 Duluth Police were dispatched to 625 W 2nd St Apt. A6, Duluth, MN 55806 for the report of a burglary in progress. Dispatch relayed that the caller was not in the area but saw someone in the apartment on a security camera. Duluth case (26071632). Upon arrival, officers found the front door of the apartment open and the lights were on inside. Officers completed a search of the apartment, locating no one inside.
A backpack and two pieces of clothing were located by the victim that did not belong to anyone in the apartment. These items were placed into evidence to be processed for DNA. The victim did not give anyone permission to enter her apartment nor to take her personal belongings from the residence. Among the items stolen were security badges from the victim’s work, along with other identification and membership cards with the victim’s name on them. From the video, the suspect appeared to be a skinny male wearing light jeans, white shoes, gloves, a backpack across his chest, and a dark jacket.
A neighbor was later interviewed who stated that a male was seen near the apartment the night of the burglary, but she believed it could have been a friend of the tenant. The witness described the male as a tall skinny black male wearing light-colored washed jeans a black or red zip up hoodie. The witness also stated that the male had a bandana with possibly skulls on it covering his face and a hood or hat covering the top of his head. The witness claimed the male was suspicious and did not seem like he “belonged there”. The male was seen standing near apartment A6, looking around.
The witness stated the male asked for water and she said no. She stated the male scared her and she went back into her apartment and locked the door. On May 29th, 2026 Officer Cozzi was dispatched to 421 W 3rd St, Duluth, MN 55806 for the report of a burglary, vehicle theft, and fraudulent credit card use. Duluth case (26073801) The victim reported that a blue Nike backpack, Ridge wallet containing cards of victim, [NAME REDACTED], MacBook Air laptop, Clothing, keys for the stolen Jeep, and other small items were stolen from their apartment while the victim [NAME REDACTED]. The victim was able to track the stolen Jeep to Superior, Wisconsin where it was recovered.
Several items were still missing after searching the recovered vehicle. In particular a blue backpack with a Nike logo on it was not recovered. One of the victim’s debit cards was used at a Kwik Trip in Superior a short distance from the stolen vehicle, as well as a business in Duluth.
