On September 22, 2025, Anoka Police Officer Villordo was dispatched to the Homestead assisted living facility located at 3111 5th Avenue, Anoka, Anoka County, Minnesota, regarding a theft report. Upon arrival, Officer Villordo met with P. Carlson who reported his father (VA) who resides at the Homestead was the victim [NAME REDACTED]. P. Carlson said he became suspicious when his father informed P. Carlson he was missing $180 from his wallet. P. Carlson said they have Ring camera’s installed inside his father’s apartment.
P. Carlson stated he viewed the Ring camera footage and observed an employee of the Homestead, later identified as ANDI JO EZELL, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter defendant, stealing money out of his father’s wallet. P. Carlson provided a copy of the videos showing the three thefts. Anoka Police Investigator Aase viewed the video footage and observed on August 18, 2025, the defendant removes cash from the VA’s wallet and then walks away from the camera with the cash in her hand and leaves the VA’s apartment.
On September 2, 2025, the defendant is seen entering the VA’s apartment and walking directly to where the VA keeps his wallet, removes money from the wallet, then leaves the apartment in less than one minute. Per P. Carlson’s timeline this was not a scheduled cleaning day, and no cleaning services occurred. On September 16, 2025, while the VA was sleeping, the defendant is seen entering the VA’s apartment, walks to where the VA keeps his wallet, removes money from the wallet and places it in her bra.
The defendant then leaves the VA’s apartment. No cleaning services were scheduled on that day. Per the VA’s schedule, cleaning services were set up for Monday’s between 11 A.M., and 1 P.M. The defendant had a master key to the VA’s apartment and was supposed to provide cleaning services on that day and that time only. The total estimated amount the defendant stole from the VA was $230.
