On or about July 21, 2025, Officer Brian Homeier of the Kenyon Police Department was dispatched to Plymold located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in the City of Kenyon in Goodhue County, State of Minnesota for a past-action burglary. Officer Homeier met with plant manager Jake Knott. Knott stated that at 10:03 A.M., a vehicle pulled into the front parking lot. A white male wearing a gold chain, black baseball cap, black shirt, black pants, brown or black boots, goatee, and serval tattoos on both arms got out of the vehicle.
The male walked up to the office door, looked around, and then walked into the employee entrance door of the building. When inside, the male located and picked up a 44 lb. Spool of welding wire, walked back out to the vehicle, and left the property. The wire valued at around $100.00. The vehicle was a black 2007 Jeep Compass bearing Minnesota license plate number LBL 219. The registered owner was Mohammad Naser. Chief Jeffrey Sjoblom and Officer Armani Tucker of the Kenyon Police Department went to the Dakota County Jail to interview RAMON JIMENEZ RUIZ, [DOB REDACTED], regarding the burglary at Plymold.
RUIZ was identified in previous reports for this incident. On July 26, 2025, Farmington Police Department investigated an incident, unrelated to the burglary, that involved RUIZ. They recovered the Jeep Compass bearing Minnesota license plate number LBL 219 which was used during the burglary at Plymold. They executed a search warrant on the vehicle. Chief Sjoblom asked them to look for the roll of wire that was taken during the burglary. The officers conducted the search and found the roll of wire in the Jeep.
Officer Homeier went to Farmington to retrieve the roll of wire for evidence. The roll of wire was shown to Knott, who identified it as the one stolen from Plymold. Officer Tucker and Chief Sjoblom met with RUIZ in one of the interview rooms at the jail. Chief Sjoblom read RUIZ his Miranda Rights. RUIZ said he understood his rights, and that he would listen and to move forward with the questioning. Chief Sjoblom asked RUIZ if he remembered where he was on July 21, 2025. RUIZ said he did not recall.
Chief Sjoblom asked RUIZ if he had ever been to Plymold. He said he used to work there. RUIZ said it was through Masterson, meaning Masterson Staffing, temp agency. Chief Sjoblom checked with Knott, who said RUIZ never worked at Plymold. Chief Sjoblom asked if it was called Foldcraft when he worked there. He said he had only known it as Plymold. The name changed at the Kenyon site about three- four years earlier. Chief Sjoblom asked RUIZ if he took wire from Plymold. RUIZ said he used to take wire from there in the past.
He said he took the wire that day and brought it to another location at Plymold. He said that should be on camera. RUIZ asked if there was video of him taking the wire. Chief Sjoblom said yes. Chief Sjoblom asked RUIZ about the wire that was located in the Jeep. RUIZ said he had receipts for that wire. Chief Sjoblom asked RUIZ where the receipts were. RUIZ said they were in his personal belongings, 3 25-CR-25-2461 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 11/5/2025 not at the jail. Chief Sjoblom showed RUIZ a picture of him on camera taking the wire.
