On December 21, 2025, at about 7:33 A.M., Officer Thompson of the Rochester Police Department was dispatched to an address located in southeast Rochester, Olmsted County, Minnesota for a report of a burglary. The complainant (an adult female identified in the police reports and herein referred to as witness) reported that her ex-boyfriend identified as Jay Francis Clark III [DOB REDACTED] had broken into a cemetery business office. Officer Thompson spoke with witness. Witness stated on 12/21/2025 at approximately 1 A.M., her security cameras captured the suspect entering the office, rummaging through the desk drawers, and then taking two of the security cameras as he left the office building.
Witness identified the suspect as Clark. Witness stated that Clark kicked the door in damaging the door, the door handles, and the lock on the door. Witness stated the cameras were worth $75 each. Both cameras were later recovered outside the business. Witness estimated the approximate cost to replace the door, the handles, and the locks is $680. Detective Rademacher of the Rochester Police Department reviewed booking photograph of Clark and compared the still photographs from the video surveillance to the booking photograph.
Detective Rademacher observed Clark has long dreads, longer beard, and mustache that match the suspect in the video surveillance. Detective Rademacher spoke with Clark and read to him the Miranda warning. Clark stated he understood his rights and agreed to speak with Detective Rademacher. Clark admitted he kicked the door open and said he was homeless doing everything he can to survive. He admitted to taking the camera and bringing it outside. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 609.49.
