On September 3, 2025, Dilworth Police Investigator E. Hoversten met with Brian Keith Filtz [DOB REDACTED](hereinafter "Defendant") in the lobby of the Dilworth Police Department. The Defendant is a person required to register as a predatory offender in the State of Minnesota. The Defendant stated he was homeless and wanted to register as such. The Defendant completed the change of information form and registered as homeless. While meeting with the Defendant, Inv. Hoversten informed the Defendant that he would have to check in at the Dilworth Police Department weekly.
Inv. Hoversten wrote "Next check in 9/12/2025" on the Defendant's copy of the change of information form. As of November 20, 025, the Defendant has not completed any check ins at the Dilworth Police Department and has not completed a change of information form with any other department. The Defendant has been on warrant status for a separate Failure to Register case out of Clay County since September 18, 2025. A search of the Defendant's criminal history shows a previous conviction for Failure to Register as a Predatory Offender on December 8, 2011 in Hubbard County, MN (see court file 29-CR- 11-1479).
