On April 27, 2026, officers responded to a report of a vehicle theft from [ADDRESS REDACTED], Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Victim 1 reported that they parked their vehicle bearing MN license plate [PLATE REDACTED] in the apartment parking garage on April 26, 2026, and when they returned on April 27, 2026, the vehicle was no longer there. Victim 1 did not give anyone permission to drive their vehicle. Investigators determined that the financial transaction card ending in 8851 from another resident of the apartment building, victim 2, was used without victim 2's knowledge or consent: -On April 27, 2026, at 0525 hours at Circle K/Holiday Gas Station located at 601 N 5th St., Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota in the amount of $34.60 -On April 27, 2026, at 0734 hours at Roseville Walmart located at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Roseville, Ramsey County, Minnesota in the amounts of $216.66 and $159.76, which were declined -On April 27, 2026, at 0810 hours at Roseville Target located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] B W, Roseville, Ramsey County, Minnesota in the amount of $121.65 Video surveillance depicts a male wearing a green fleece jacket, gray sweatpants, and white/gray shoes at the Holiday Gas Station, Roseville Walmart, and Roseville Target, at the exact times the purchases were made.
The suspect was depicted driving the stolen vehicle matching the description of the vehicle bearing MN license plate [PLATE REDACTED]. The investigating officer sent a Tri County alert seeking law enforcement assistance in identifying and locating the suspect. Minnetonka Police responded that the suspect was in their custody and was identified as ABDIRAHMAN YUSUF HASSAN, DEFENDANT herein. The investigator determined that the suspect in custody matched the surveillance video. In an encounter with St. Louis Park Police, the DEFENDANT spontaneously uttered, "Such a dumb choice of f****** staling this car, bro.
Like I didn't, it wasn't me who did that, but it was just, I'm sorry bro." The keys to the stolen vehicle were found on the DEFENDANT. Officers observed two dealer plates on the front passenger side of the floorboard and noted that the license plate was off of the vehicle. In a post-Miranda statement, the DEFENDANT indicated that he did not know exactly where he got the stolen vehicle from but recalled it was a garage near the Renaissance Hotel located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] W, Bloomington, which is located on the same block as the apartment building from which the vehicle was taken.
The DEFENDANT is currently in custody on unrelated matters. The DEFENDANT had 16 outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest.
