Complainant, an investigator with the Wayzata Police Department, after reviewing all of the files in this matter, believes the following to be true: On September 21, 2025, at approximately 3:45 pm., Wayzata Police Officer N. Kalkes was dispatched to the American Legion located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] E, in the City of Wayzata, County of Hennepin, for a disturbance. The reporting party stated a white male wearing a green shirt and black shorts was arguing with two people at the Legion. The white male, later identified as Austin Jonathan Bancroft [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the “Defendant,” had left the Legion on foot and was last seen walking eastbound on Wayzata Boulevard.
Officer Kalkes was then informed through dispatch that a male was fighting with individuals outside of [ADDRESS REDACTED]. The male had hit someone and was now being held down on the pavement. Upon arriving at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Officer Kalkes observed a female holding a male down on the ground. The male was identified as the Defendant, who said he would fight if anyone touched him. The male was intoxicated and began vomiting. Medics were called and they removed him from the scene. Officer Kalkes noted that the behavior of the Defendant created a large scene and there were several people watching the incident prior to her arrival and while she was on the scene.
