That on or about November 23, 2025, at approximately 12:55 A.M., Trooper Haddy of the Minnesota State Patrol was on routine patrol on westbound Interstate 94. Trooper Haddy's attention was drawn to a vehicle bearing Minnesota license number GSH-100, which was weaving both in-and-out of its lane and within its lane. The suspect vehicle continued this driving conduct as it entered northbound Highway 252 and travelled into the city of Brooklyn Park, Hennepin County, where a traffic stop was initiated.
Trooper Haddy made contact with the driver of the suspect vehicle, identified as APRIL CHANNEL WASHINGTON, Defendant herein. Defendant's eyes were bloodshot and watery and Trooper Haddy detected the odor of consumed alcohol coming from her breath. Due to the stop location, the only field sobriety test that was administered was the HGN, which revealed several clues of impairment. A PBT was administered, registering Defendant's alcohol concentration to be.151. Defendant was placed under arrest and read the Motor Vehicle Implied Consent Advisory, which she indicated she understood.
Defendant did provide a consensual breath sample at 2:09 A.M., revealing her alcohol concentration to be.14. Defendant has a prior Driving Under the Influence conviction from on or about March 21, 2020.
