On 03/26/26, at approximately 0228 hours, officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance located in Moorhead, Clay County, MN. The Complainant indicated that there was an altercation between two people and that one person was holding onto a vehicle while it was moving. Dispatch could hear two males yelling, and specifically heard the statement "Let me go home Anthony." One of the males involved in the altercation was later identified to be ANTHONY BOONE SR. [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter referred to as Defendant.
The other male involved in the incident was later identified to be C. C., hereinafter referred to as Victim. When officers arrived, they made contact with the Defendant, Victim, and a female with the initials R. C. R. C. Explained that she has been dating the Defendant for approximately two years and that the Victim [NAME REDACTED]. All three individuals had been living together in the Defendant's apartment in Moorhead. R. C. Explained that the Defendant is a paranoid schizophrenic and became aggressive toward her.
The Victim intervened to stop the Defendant from hurting her, and then the Defendant tackled the Victim [NAME REDACTED]. That's when the Victim told R. C. To get in the car and leave. R. C. Noted she did not want to leave her son because she was worried the Defendant would hurt him. R. C. Explained that the altercation had occurred down the street from their apartment in Moorhead, Clay County, MN. She also explained that all three of them had been consuming alcohol earlier in the evening. R. C. Also explained that Defendant acts more erratically when he consumes alcohol while also taking his schizophrenia medication, which is what happened earlier that evening.
Victim spoke with law enforcement and explained that the Defendant had gotten out of control that night. He stated the Defendant chased him and R. C. Out of the apartment and then began punching the car and acting erratically. When the Defendant became aggressive with R. C., the Victim intervened and the Defendant punched him several times, bit his face, scratched his chest/neck area, and stretched/ripped his shirt. Victim explained he needed to wrestle with the Defendant to prevent anyone else from getting hurt.
The Complainant who witnesses the altercation and called police explained that he saw the Defendant throw punches at the Victim who was clearly trying to protect the female (R. C.) from being assaulted. The Complainant then saw R. C. Get into a vehicle and try to drive away with the Victim. The Defendant then grabbed onto the car and was dragged a short distance while the vehicle was trying to get away. When law enforcement made contact with the Defendant, he was visibly bleeding from his right arm and the right side of his abdomen from what appeared to be road rash.
Defendant stated he received his injuries from "tussling" with the Victim. Defendant has a prior conviction for felony 3rd Degree Assault on 12/08/22 in casefile 27-CR-22-16564. Defendant also has a prior conviction for misdemeanor Battery--Domestic Abuse Incident on 06/02/20 in Wisconsin casefile 2020-18-CR-000366. **This is a DV Court case for scheduling purposes.
