On 05/07/2026 at 1901 hours, officers responded to 10XXX Beard Avenue S., Bloomington, Hennepin County for a domestic assault. Victim ST reported his cousin and roommate, Stein Eric Tenold, [DOB redacted], (now referred to as "Defendant") hit him in the head with a brick and he was bleeding. Upon arrival officers made contact with Victim ST who had blood running down the left side of his face from the top of his head. Victim ST had blood pooling at his feet as he was sitting at the front steps of the residence.
There appeared to be ripped flesh protruding from the wound and another half dollar size contusion that appeared to have been caused by a blunt object. Victim ST took officers to the back door of the residence where he said the confrontation occurred and showed them where he was curled up on the ground while Defendant was on top of him. Victim ST explained they were arguing over an oven mitt. Victim ST was upset and got in Defendant's face by the back door. Defendant then grabbed him in a "bear hug" from the front and threw him to the ground.
Defendant got on top of Victim ST as he was on the ground, on his knees. Defendant pulled Victim ST's hoodie over his head and then wrapped his arm around, either "missing the choke" or trying to break his jaw. Defendant's arm was across Victim ST's mouth, and he could not get Defendant off of him as he was bigger than him. Victim ST then bit Defendant's arm as it was across his face. Defendant hit Victim ST several times in the head. Victim ST did not know what he was being hit with but recognized it as something heavy.
Victim ST realized blood was coming from his head and saw two of the four paver stones that were stacked on the top stairs previously were now next to where they just fought. Victim ST believes Defendant grabbed the bricks and hit him in the head. Victim ST told Defendant he was calling 911 and Defendant then left. Defendant was located walking a short distance away. A bite mark was seen on his arm, and his right knuckle was bloody. Defendant said Victim ST had bitten him and said the bloody knuckle was from falling down.
It should be noted his left knuckle did not show any signs of injury or his palms. When asked what happened to Victim ST to cause his head injury, Defendant stated he likely "hit himself in the head" and mentioned there were several large stones by the back stairs. Defendant was arrested and is currently in custody at the Hennepin County Jail.
