On April 9, 2026, at approximately 5:39 PM, Deputy Klaysmat and Sergeant Wagner with the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a call at a residence in the Township of Marion, Olmsted County, Minnesota. Upon their arrival, they met with an adult male, fully identified in police reports (hereinafter “Victim”), who stated MIRANDA LEIGH DOCHERTY, [DOB REDACTED], had broken his television during an argument. Deputy Klaysmat observed that a display cabinet and light fixture had been broken with glass everywhere, and chairs and a table were overturned.
Deputy Klaysmat located Docherty, who told him that she had nothing to say about the living room being destroyed, but then stated she believed Victim called 911 because she broke everything in the living room. Sergeant Wagner spoke with Victim, who explained that he and Docherty had been in a relationship, but as of April 9, they were not together. He stated when the fight began that night, he locked himself in his bedroom. Victim showed Sergeant Wagner several video recordings on his phone. The videos were recorded from Victim’s bedroom.
Sergeant Wagner could hear both Victim and Docherty yelling as well as loud thuds consistent with items being broken in another room. Deputy Klaysmat also spoke with Victim, who stated he purchased the television for $1,800. When Victim [NAME REDACTED], the screen was completely shattered. Victim stated another item Docherty broke was purchased for $50. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE.
