Witness 1 said he drove that male, the defendant, to Kwik Trip, and when he got there, he decided to go in and purchase some oil. The defendant stayed outside, leaning against Witness 1’s vehicle. After locating the oil, Witness 1 said he saw the defendant behind him in the store.
Witness 1 said then they left Kwik Trip, and the defendant asked to be dropped off at a house approximately two blocks from Kwik Trip near the Sumner school. Witness 1 said he did not know anything about what happened outside of Kwik Trip and did not know that a firearm had been involved. Austin Police Department Sergeant Mike Hartman then observed the defendant, wearing the same clothing, walking toward officers. The defendant was detained by Austin Police Department Officer Zachary Keesey.
