On or about March 8, 2026 at approximately 8:30 P.M., officers responded to a call of an unwanted person at a residence on the 1500 block of Oliver Avenue North in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The reporting party told officers that her brother, LARRY JOSEPH WILLIAMS (“Defendant” herein), was intoxicated in her home, was screaming, and was threatening her. Officers arrived on scene and heard yelling coming from the upper unit of the residence. Officers heard a female voice yelling at Defendant to get out, as he was damaging property.
Officers entered the home and saw Defendant inside. The female inside told officers that she wanted Defendant out because he was breaking things. Officers asked Defendant if he was willing to leave, and he said yes. Defendant appeared to be intoxicated while talking to officers, so officers offered to drive Defendant away from the scene. Defendant accepted the ride from officers. Officers patted Defendant for weapons before allowing him into their squad car. Defendant asked if he could grab his jacket from a bedroom inside the residence before leaving.
Officers followed Defendant into the bedroom, where he picked up a blue and white jacket off a bed. Officers patted down the jacket and saw a firearm inside an open pocket. Defendant said, “I was just fitting to leave bro, if you gotta arrest me, you gotta do what you.” Officers learned that Defendant is ineligible to possess firearms. Officers arrested Defendant and transported him to the Hennepin County jail. Defendant is ineligible to possess firearms due to convictions of the following crimes of violence: ••-CR-••-••••: convicted of felony simply robbery on or about January 17, 2020 ••-CR-••-••••: convicted of felony aiding and abetting first-degree aggravated robbery on or about September 8, 2014 Defendant remains in custody.
