That your complainant is a peace officer employed by the Rochester Police Department who was advised of the following by law enforcement officers with that agency, known to your complainant to be truthful and reliable: On April 29, 2025, at 7:28 P.M. An adult male, hereinafter “Defendant,” entered Walmart North, located at 3400 55th St. NW in the City of Rochester, County of Olmsted, State of Minnesota. Defendant walked to the electronics department and attempted to break into a locked display case but could get into the case.
Defendant then moved to another locked case containing PlayStation 5 game consoles. Ultimately, the male was able to break into the display case and remove one PlayStation, valued at $699.00. Defendant concealed the PlayStation under his sweatshirt and left the store, passing all points of sale without attempting to pay. Defendant then entered a red Toyota Rav 4 bearing Minnesota registration of KSY168. Detective Steven Rademacher reviewed surveillance video of the incident, and was able to identify the owner of the vehicle.
Detective Rademacher found that a male, identified as Adam Joseph Keith Wharton, 12/10/1990, lives at the same address as the registered owner of the vehicle. Detective looked up Wharton’s driver’s license photograph and identified him as the Defendant herein. The damage to the display cases cost $100 to repair. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 609.
