LNT stated that the firearm never left her possession and that police had an innocent man in jail. LNT told the investigator that the firearm was in her jacket pocket when she returned from the store, and she was still wearing her jacket during the incident. LNT said HOLMES was reaching into her pockets to get her keys so he could leave and was trying to do the right thing by leaving. As HOLMES was reaching into her pockets, LNT said she stepped back because of the firearm. When she backed up, HOLMES still had his hands in her pocket, and she fell into the bathtub.
LNT said she told HOLMES the firearm was loaded then HOLMES backed up and eventually left. LNT denied that HOLMES ever possessed the firearm or pointed it at her. LNT explained that what her daughter told police was misunderstood, and that LNT recently left a bad domestic relationship, which caused her daughter to have anxiety from that situation.
